The Secret to an Easy Thanksgiving

22 Nov The Secret to an Easy Thanksgiving

Here are a few simple tips to help you enjoy the day without the overwhelm:

🌿 1. Don’t “save up” calories — fuel early.

Skipping breakfast before a big meal backfires.
Your blood sugar crashes, cravings spike, and suddenly stuffing feels like oxygen.
Have a protein-rich breakfast (eggs, greek yogurt, a smoothie).
Your body will thank you later.

🌿 2. Build your plate in this order: color → protein → the fun stuff.

You don’t need to skip the rolls or the pie.
Just give your body what it needs first.
This helps with cravings, energy, and that “why did I do that?” feeling later on.

🌿 3. Two five-minute walks beat one long one.

Take a quick pre-meal walk and a post-meal one.
This keeps blood sugar steady and helps digestion, without feeling like “exercise.”

🌿 4. Hydrate like it’s your job.

Dehydration masquerades as hunger and fatigue.
Aim for one glass of water before the meal and one after.(Easy. Free. Effective.)

🌿 5. Give yourself permission to enjoy the holiday.

Joy is metabolically supportive.
Stress isn’t.

And most of all, be Grateful!

Take a moment to really look at the people around your table, the food in front of you, and the blessings in your life.

Gratitude isn’t just a feel-good practice. Studies show it can boost happiness and ease anxiety and depression.

A few deep breaths + a grateful heart can shift your entire day.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving surrounded by love, gratitude, and all the little joys that make life special.
