1 tablespoon earth balance natural shortening (can use butter or coconut oil if not making dairy free)
DIRECTIONS:
Fill a large pot half way with water and then add the first 4 ingredients.
Bring water mixture and wings to a boil and then boil for 15 minutes.
Transfer wings to an oven safe container coated with coconut oil. Cook wings for 10 minutes on each side. Then, cook on Broil (high) for 5 minutes on each side to get them crispy. (For crispier wings, cook longer on each side, maybe 15 minutes per side + broiling time).
While wings are cooking, combine the Hot Sauce and Earth’s balance in a microwave safe container and cook in microwave for 2 minutes or until melted – or cook in a pot on the stove. (You can cook the sauce longer for a thicker sauce).
Once wings are crispy, roll them in the sauce and enjoy!
NOTES:
Watch the wings when they are broiling as they can burn quickly!
