Choco Berry smoothie

YIELDS:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cups of spinach
  • 1 cup of alternative milk (almond, cashew, coconut, etc.)
  • 1 cup frozen berries
  • 2 teaspoons of raw cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • few drops of stevia or tsp of your favorite sweetener (optional)
  • 2-4 ice cubes (more or less for desired consistency)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add all ingredients into high speed blender (putting softer items on the bottom)
  2. Put blender on low and slowly move up to high, using tamper as needed to include ingredients into blending process.
  3. Blend for approximately 45-60 seconds or until smooth.

NOTES:

If you don’t have a high-speed blender like a Vitamix, add liquid and greens first until smooth. Then add the rest of the ingredients and blend until desired consistency.

 

Feel free to experiment with different fruits and vegetables. Ideally, you want to move to a 3:1 ratio – greens to fruits. However, move to that ratio slowly and you will actually enjoy your smoothies. I often add cinnamon or ginger to my true ‘green’ smoothies to give it a kick!
