Chocolate Pear Smoothie

YIELDS:

1 large or 2 small smoothies

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups of spinach or other leafy green
  • 1 pear cored
  • 1.5 cups of filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 2heaping tablespoon of raw cacao powder (or 100% cocoa powder)
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • few drops of liquid stevia or  1 tsp raw honey (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add all ingredients into high speed blender, putting softer items on the bottom
  2. Start blender on low and slowly move up to high, using tamper as needed to include ingredients into blending process.
  3. Blend for approximately 45-60 seconds or until smooth.

NOTES:

This recipe is great for breakfast, an afternoon snack or sweet treat.
