Your Habits Impact Your Kids

18 Jul Your Habits Impact Your Kids

The Harvard Chan School of Public Health recently published a study that showed the mother’s health habits can positively affect their kids’ health! The study looked at five habits:
  • healthy diet
  • regular exercise
  • moderate alcohol consumption
  • no smoking
  • maintaining a healthy body weight.

Children of mothers who practice the five healthy habits above were 75% less likely to become obese. And, when both the mother and children followed the five healthy habits, the obesity risk was 82% lower. It’s important to set a good example for your children with your lifestyle choices. If they see you making healthful lifestyle choices, they are likely to follow. So, don’t just tell your kids to get out and play or eat fruit and vegetables, do it yourself and see the benefits! Click here to read more on the study.
